Stefan Ehgartner appointed Chairman of the Management Board

  • Stefan Ehgartner had only moved up to the Executive Board of real estate services provider IGP Ingenieur AG in September 2020
  • Ernst-Ulrich Behr retired as of Dec. 31, 2020
  • Stefan Ehgartner plans to “focus on growth by strengthening competencies”

In September 2020, Stefan Ehgartner was appointed to the Executive Board of IGP Ingenieur AG, and now the internationally experienced project manager has moved up to the top of the real estate service provider. Thus Stefan Ehgartner succeeds the previous chairman Ernst-Ulrich Behr, who is going into well-deserved retirement, as of 01.01.2021. However, IGP Ingenieur AG will not have to do without the many years of experience and expertise of the former chairman, who will continue to support the board in an advisory capacity.

In addition, the Executive Board of IGP Ingenieur AG will continue to consist of Dominik Freytag, Carsten Hille, Mario Iliades, Dr. Harald Leonhardt and Christian Werner. Stefan Gräf, CEO of our parent company IGP Advantag AG, explains: “Although Stefan Ehgartner has only recently joined the Executive Board of IGP Ingenieur AG, he has known the IGP Group for 15 years from numerous joint projects. With his appointment as chairman, which had been planned for some time, we want above all to lay the foundation for the long-term and continuous management of IGP Ingenieur AG and to further strengthen and expand the international networking of the entire IGP Group. In addition, Stefan Ehgartner brings with him extensive group experience, which we will use in the further development of the entire group in order to build sustainable structures and to develop the business holistically. We thank Ernst-Ulrich Behr for his outstanding work as Chairman of IGP Ingenieur AG and wish him all the best in the new phase of his life.”

Stefan Ehgartner adds: “As Chairman of the Executive Board, I am looking forward to continuing the expansion course we have embarked on together with the employees of IGP Ingenieur AG. In terms of content, we expect to focus on the expansion of our international business as well as in the areas of school construction, the planning and construction of healthcare properties, and the implementation of lean management in our own projects as well as in projects for third parties. We are planning extensive business expansion through strategic acquisitions and investments in industry specialists in order to implement our vision of being an integrated and holistic real estate service provider.”

Stefan Ehgartner has been active in the construction and real estate industry since 1992. During this time, he has overseen the development of the Debis Tower, the Sony Center and the Deutsche Bahn Tower at Berlin’s Potsdamer Platz, among others, as project manager and authorized signatory. His international career began in 2001 with project management for the Bank of America building, as well as for the headquarters of Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers in London (GB). This was followed by stations in Copenhagen (DK), Barcelona (ES), Madrid (ES), Dublin (Irl) and Baku (AZ), where he already worked in partnership with the IGP Group from 2004. In his 28 years with the Lindner Group, most recently as Managing Director, Stefan Ehgartner was responsible for numerous major projects such as the construction of the Metro Stations – Red & Green Line in Dubai (AE), the Concert Hall in Copenhagen (DK), the Jumeirah Hotel and Spa in Port de Sóller on Mallorca (ES), the Paris Philharmonic Hall (FR) as well as the Metro and the facade contract King Abdullah Financial District in Raid (SA) and various other projects in the Middle East and North America. Most recently, Stefan Ehgartner was Managing Director of the facade division with all international locations and was responsible for the major facade contract at the Lakhta Center in Saint Petersburg, which was successfully completed in early 2020.

The Haus der Deutschen Wirtschaft, once designed by Prof. Peter Schweger, has been the home of the three major trade associations DIHK, BDI and BDA since 1999.

In order to meet the changing demands of the employees over the course of time, the building has been adapted accordingly. At the start of the redesign, the foyer of the BDI/BDA was the main focus of attention. The planning and realisation was carried out by SAA Schweger Architekten, which we as IGP are expected to support in phase 8.

Jens Spahn visits Steinfurt

During his NRW tour Jens Spahn visited the historic weaver’s quarter in Steinfurt-Borghorst to get to know the plans for the new “Mauritius Health & Care Campus” on site.

CDU mayoral candidate Norbert Kerkhoff, Local Union leader Jan Röschenkämper as well as the director of the Münster University Hospital, Prof. Dr. Hugo Van Aken, and Dirk Schmedding, managing director of the UKM Marienhospital Steinfurt, showed the Federal Minister the history, investment and future of the area.

Further information can be found in the article “Election Campaign Assistance from the Minister” in the Westfälische Nachrichten.

Mauritius Health & Care Campus

On the site of the former Weberquartier in Steinfurt, IGP is planning to create a lively urban quarter with a focus on rehabilitation, nursing and residential uses. As a basis for the development of the area of approx. 27,000 m², an urban planning expert opinion procedure was carried out, in which the contribution of the Dutch studio Kempe Thill prevailed. This design was presented to the political bodies of the city on 25.06.2020 in a public council meeting and unanimously selected as the planning basis for the further development process of the development plan. The construction work for this campus is expected to begin in spring 2021.

IGP CEO Dominik Freytag invited to

The journalist and moderator Dr. Brinkmann, interviewed Mr. Freytag, as a member of the IGP board, about our projects of the IGP Group.

The programme “Standort Berlin” was broadcast on 25.07.2020, directly after “Die Woche” and can now be seen on the YouTube channel of “Standort Berlin – Rapid development around the BER“.

Dr. Brinkmann has made a name for himself as a journalist, editor and chief correspondent for the topics of politics, economics and law and has been moderating for since 2002.

However, he is best known for his legendary press conference on the opening of the Berlin Wall with the head of the Berlin SED, Günter Schabowski. Brinkmann’s question about the entry into force of the new regulation was answered by Schabowski with the much quoted sentence: “As far as I know … this will happen immediately, immediately.

In an interview, Dr. Brinkmann spoke with Mr. Freytag about the IGP’s projects in Berlin, such as on the Museum Island, in Neukölln, in Pankow and in Waltersdorf. In particular, the development and early completion of Berlin’s BER airport was the focus of attention.

Corona Emergency Clinic

We also want to do good and accompanied the “Corona Emergency Clinic” project at Messe Berlin. The Temporary Respiratory Care Unit Jaffe Strasse in Exhibition Hall 26 is a very important project in times of the corona crisis and has kept the IGP team around Christian Werner and Siegfried Keruth on site on their toes since 02.04.2020.

The ward in Hall 26 has a capacity of 480 beds. In Hall 25, an additional 320 beds will be provided. Among other things, gas and sanitary facilities, lighting, an admission office with doctors’ rooms, examination rooms, and surgery and treatment rooms will be installed in the halls.

In principle, the halls thus function like giant medical practices. Both halls are separated from normal trade fair operations. The construction progress was enormous. All possibilities were exhausted to put the temporary ventilation station into operation. On 01.05.2020 the “emergency clinic” was handed over to the operator (VIVANTES)!

Worth reading about the project also under:

We wish you all a healthy time – and a speedy recovery in case of emergency.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our colleagues at Metis Systems AG, who enabled us to be mobile in no time at all. Great achievement! Also for the daily telephone support, which goes beyond the normal level. Many thanks also to the human resources department, which also manages the many “Corona issues” in addition to its normal work. And last but not least, of course, to all those who, even in this phase of full commitment, at the most diverse locations, bring the projects and the company forward.

IGP Group develops Weberquartier Steinfurt

The owner-managed project developer is planning residential, assisted living and medical-related uses in the mixed neighbourhood.

The Weberquartier Steinfurt GmbH & Co. KG, which belongs to the IGP Group, has acquired the approx. 25,000 sqm inner-city property “Alte Weberei” in Steinfurt (NRW) and is planning to build a mixed quarter with medically-oriented uses, assisted living and classic owner-occupied and rented apartments together with IGP Projekt GmbH. The exact division of the areas is currently being agreed in partnership with the responsible authorities and politicians in Steinfurt. At the same time, initial cooperation talks are already underway with potential partners from Steinfurt, North Rhine-Westphalia and the whole of Germany. Franken Architekten GmbH from Frankfurt am Main was commissioned for the urban development design.

The aim of the new owner is to create the planning and building rights for this area together and in partnership with the city of Steinfurt, so that a liveable inner-city quarter for living, care and health can be created instead of the long-standing fallow land.

Contract Award: General planner services for temporary supplementary school buildings

Together with our partner office bauplanung plauen gmbh, we are happy to announce that we have been awarded all 3 lots of the school project in Berlin Pankow.

We are building at three locations of already existing educational institutions: Primary school at Hohen Feld, Arnold branch primary school and Elisabeth Shaw primary school. A temporary modular school replacement building with a capacity for 150 pupils will be erected at each location, including site-specific adaptation of the outdoor facilities. The planned project duration for the flying classrooms is extremely sporty and is only one year.

In order to guarantee the short planning and construction time as well as a reusability of the temporary extension buildings at other locations, buildings are planned in modular construction, demountable and probably in wood.

We are looking forward to this exciting challenge and the interdisciplinary cooperation with our project partners!
