We are pleased to announce that our two dual students Mr. Rick Tiedmann and Mr. Paul Sanwald have successfully defended their bachelor theses in civil engineering. Mr. Tiedmann wrote his bachelor thesis on “Lean Management in the Scheduling of Large Projects – Advantages and Disadvantages in Practice, Presented by the Project GoWest in Berlin”. Mr. Sanwald wrote a draft for a [überbau] module in the context of his topic “Design and Development of a Lean Construction Application for the Control of Building Projects”, which is now being implemented by Metis Systems AG. Both works were given excellent marks.

We congratulate and wish you continued success!

We would also like to wish our new dual student Mrs. Helene Schwichtenberg every success in her just started studies.

The university’s construction project is now nearing completion of the award phase. Together with the clients, we are looking forward to the early start of the implementation measures.

Together with a consortium of 10 other partners, Metis Systems AG has developed the Innovation Competition of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) won. The consortium “SDaC: Smart Design and Construction“wants to offer a platform for AI applications in planning and production processes of the construction industry and thus support the digital transformation in the construction industry. Building should be made more transparent, forward-looking and with better involvement of the knowledge of all project participants.

As a winner, Metis is also nominated for funding during a three-year implementation phase.

The EXPO Real is always worth a visit and those who weren’t there this year really missed something: the exchange with us in the Techup hall to [überbau] and the added value that we can realize with our new BIM software. We were able to have more than 100 exciting and inspiring conversations, which are now being deepened. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest.

IGP supports the poster campaign “Sport against Violence”. Not only to place sports clubs as meaningful leisure activities, but also to keep children and adolescents off the streets by joining sports clubs and to combat so-called initial offences such as theft and damage to property. Telephone numbers for contacts are communicated directly over the posters, so that the association entrance for the young people and children is as uncomplicated as possible.

1 day, 640 teams, 18.226 participants and 134.000,00 Euro which were run together for the association “Kinder helfen Kindern”! Of course, the IGP could not miss this event and sent its athletes from Munich, Berlin and Hamburg to support the good cause.

Some celebrations are always particularly gladly celebrated – so also our summer celebration. While some enjoy the cosy exchange between colleagues who have travelled from other regions at the joint barbecue, others enjoy a highly motivated evening full of fun with sporting activities such as human table soccer, water sports, table tennis or dancing.

We are already looking forward to next year’s repeat and would like to thank everyone for a wonderful evening.

In the detailed report, the first magazine issue of the Baukultur magazine 2019 sheds light on the challenges involved in expanding and remodeling the parking garage of the BMW Group in Munich.

The article describes the elaborate refurbishment concept which, in addition to the technical requirements for the protection and repair of the original concrete components, also took into account the visual appearance of the façade in consultation with the monuments authorities. Especially due to the critically assessed concrete cover, an intervention was necessary.

All façade elements were renovated on site and later remounted with a secondary construction to the new building, which had been put into the existing excavation. The northern area of ​​the parking garage even received a completely new façade, which clearly distinguishes itself from the existing structure in terms of its appearance, in the form of a curved perforated sheet metal construction.
