In Berlin, the construction project Schinkelplatz is entering its realization phase. Once completed, the object will form the link between the Stadtschloss under construction and the western adjoining mixed modern / historic buildings such as the Friedrichwerder church and government buildings. The primary goal of the development of the Schinkelplatz area is the creation of a high-quality residential and business district, which combines its qualities from the conflict between the city palace and the Unter den Linden boulevard, between history and neo-historicism, the unique location in the city and the distinctiveness of its specific location the center of Berlin refers. The entire location and the individual buildings get their own and unique image through different design of house and apartment types. Designed and designed by the architects Rafael Moneo, Schultes Frank Architects and Hemprich Tophof Architects. The task is to create high-quality buildings in this historically and very cramped situation in the shadow of the Friedrichwerder Church.
